Technical Data

RIE 4068/4070 Silver

High Temperature Coating

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

RIE 4068 base coat & RIE 4070 top coat is a protective & functional finish based on ceramic/silicone technologies. This coating cures by catalyzation, polymerization, and by subsequent fusion and complexing of the metallics and ceramics. May be used on steel, castings, and other metals capable of withstanding high temperatures.

RECOMMENDED USAGE

Wherever the ultimate in heat resistance is desired. The metal must be of a type that will withstand highly oxidative conditions developed at high temperatures. Ordinary cold rolled steel may delaminate and fracture at high temperatures, decreasing the life expectancy of the surface

PERFORMANCE INFORMATION

RIE 4068/4070 can withstand temperatures of up to 1200°F for short periods of time and up to 1000°F for extended periods of time.

After curing, the coating will resist red rust for 400+ hours in neutral salt spray. After being heated to the elevated temperatures during usage, the corrosion protection can exceed 1000 hours salt spray resistance.
