Technical Data
RIE 4034 Black
High Temperature Coating
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
RIE4034 top coat is a nice looking flat black or semi gloss black protective & functional finish based on modified silicone technologies. This coating cures by catalyzation, polymerization, and by subsequent fusion and complexing of the metallics. RIE4034 May be used on aluminum, low carbon steel, 409 stainless steel, castings, and other metals capable of withstanding high temperatures.
RECOMMENDED USAGE
Mufflers, manifolds, brake drums, rotors, heat shields or wherever the ultimate in heat resistance is desired. The metal must be of a type that will withstand highly oxidative conditions developed at high temperatures. Ordinary cold rolled steel may delaminate and fracture at high temperatures, thus decreasing the life expectancy of the substrate.
> A dry film thickness of 0.001” to 0.003”
> Temperature resistance of more than 1400°F. (The coating cross links when the part reaches actual service temperature, until then the finish may be soft.)
> Excellent corrosion protection
> Prevents bimetal corrosion of dissimilar metals
> Does not dissipate, insulate or shield heat
