Corrosion Protective Finish

 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

RIE 4017 is a thermosetting epoxy coating containing a pigmented system of aluminum flake.  It crosslinks at a PMT of 400° F and provides excellent chemical and corrosion resistance.                                                      

RECOMMENDED USAGE

                        *  Carbon steel parts where high levels of corrosion protection are required.

    *  Common applications include fasteners, clips, springs, stampings and sheet steel.

APPLICATION

RIE 4017  is  applied using any standard liquid coating’s application technique.  Common techniques include dip/spin, coil coated and spray (conventional or electrostatic).

                PERFORMANCE

 * Salt Spray per ASTM B-117:  1000 Hrs. Minimum

Friction Factor (K)- 0.16 +/- .02

            Resistant to all automotive fuels.

* When applied over a zinc basecoat or zinc plating.
