 GENERAL DESCRIPTION

                       RIE 4001 is a dry to the touch thermosetting epoxy coating. This topcoat provides

                       excellent chemical and corrosion resistance.

RECOMMENDED USAGE

RIE 4001 is recommended wherever a black appearance, high corrosion

resistance and consistent torque/tension are required.  

                        This coating is ideal for all fasteners, springs, clips and stampings.

APPLICATION

RIE 4001 is commonly applied by spray or dip/spin.

Color………………….          Low gloss black.

PERFORMANCE

                                        Friction Factor (K):     .           .17 (2 coats over zinc & yellow)

                                                                                       .18 (1 coat over 4900 basecoat)

* Salt Spray per ASTM B-117:            750 Hrs. Minimum to red corrosion

                                                            200 Hrs. Minimum to white corrosion

Resistant to all automotive fuels.

                                      * When applied over a zinc basecoat or zinc plating.
